The framework

RAD: Reliable, Adaptable Value Delivery

RAD isn’t another methodology to install. It’s a sequence of measurable organizational states, ordered so each one stands on the one before it. Think checklist, not catechism.

R

Reliable

Make promises. Keep them. Show your work.

Predictability is the first thing the business asks for and the last thing most transformations deliver. RAD builds it from stable teams, clear backlogs and honest metrics, so a commitment means something.

A

Adaptable

Change course without losing altitude.

Markets move. Priorities shift. Adaptable organizations have feedback loops short enough to correct course weekly, not annually, and teams loosely coupled enough to do it without a reorg.

D

Value Delivery

Outcomes over output. Finished over started.

Stop starting, start finishing. Every epic, feature and story traces to value someone actually wants, and every release closes a feedback loop that shapes the next one.

Principles

Outcomes, not ceremonies.

  • ▸Outcomes are progressive organizational states that represent measurable change, not boxes ticked on a training plan.
  • ▸Outcomes are ordered to build on a strong foundation. You don’t do release trains before you have teams.
  • ▸Each outcome takes no more than about four weeks, even for self-paced teams. The first four ask for intentional commitment and some productive disruption.
  • ▸Every team is different. The pace varies. The order doesn’t.

Three goals, every activity

1Build the Right Thing
2Build It Right
3Build It Fast

Every improvement we recommend traces to one of these goals, so the work always answers “which problem does this solve?”

The mission profile

Plan the flight, then fly it.

  1. TWS

    Transformation Workshop

Leadership aligns on why, what and how much. Out comes a business case and a readout everyone signs up to.

    • Business case
    • Transformation readout
    • Workshop summary
  2. BASELINE

    RAD Assessment baseline

Every team answers the 36-competency assessment. Now everyone knows the real starting altitude, and which waypoint comes first.

    • Team competence level
    • Domain scores
    • Coaching plans
    • Organization chart
    • Team model
  3. RL1–RL5

    RAD Levels 1 through 5

Fly the eight outcomes. Each level raises the bar on the same practices, from “Beginning” to “Innovating.”

    • Re-assessments on cadence
    • Flow metrics
    • Release plans
    • Improvement backlogs

How mature is “done”?

Five levels of team competence.

1

Beginning

Beginner · Basic trust

2

Operating

Minimally competent · Conditional trust

3

Adaptive

Competent · Autonomous trust

4

Quantified

Virtuoso · Visible trust

5

Innovating

Master · Authentic trust

How the RAD Assessment works

The result: teams that keep their PACT.

Persistent · Aligned · Committed · Trustworthy
